Crime

By Toni Havens

There was a time my heart beat fine,

Then again my heart was mine.

My heart was stolen and my soul refined.

I can not deny I loved the crime.

This fantasy blindsided me.

There once was a time I woke alone.

I thought my life had been blown.

My mind on auto drone.

Depressing waking, eating, waiting by the phone.

This time I was drown by fate.

A voice echoed on a still night date.

A gust of wind burst open my enclosed gate.

There was a time my heart beat fine.

Then again my heart was mine.

The beat turned irregular in just a short time.

I love your sweet crime.

You stole my heart and it is no longer mine.
